Među „bradatim” naslovima koji kroz Wii rimejke proživljavaju novu mladost naročito se ističe treći nastavak Metroid Primea, po mnogim mišljenjima najbolje igre svih vremena za GameCube. Radi se o jubilarnoj, desetoj igri serijala Metroid, semena koje je Nintendo posadio daleke 1986. godine. Na Famicomu se tada pojavila intrigantna akciono-avanturistička igra zasnovana na motivima SF blokbastera „Osmi putnik”, sa glavnim protagonistom otelotvorenim u liku Sejmus Eran (Samus Aran), žene – lovca na ucene. Multižanrovski koktel nelinearne strukture evoluirao je postepeno u trilogiju Metroid Prime, 3D akcione avanture u prostranom univerzumu koju krasi dobra SF priča o svemirskim piratima i biološkim eksperimentima na planeti Tallon IV. Sva izdanja osvojila su simpatije kritike, a autorima donela lepu zaradu.

Metroid Prime 3 - Corruption - EG review

Where Corruption really progresses over and above the previous games in the series is the sublime implementation of the Wii controls. By giving over the targeting to the Wii remote, you're afforded mouse-like targeting precision during combat, with strafing, forward and backward movements assigned to the Nunchuk. Admittedly there is a small learning curve before you'll become truly comfortable (or proficient) with the new control system, but it helps no end by the ability to lock-on to target with the Z button.

Metroid Prime 3 : Corruption je najisčekivanija igra bila za Wii. Ono sto je Master Chief za Xbox, to je Samus Aran za Nintendove konzole. Igre iz Metroid serijala su izlazile već za NES. Ko ne zna o čemu se radi , evo ukratko : Samus Aran, hladnokrvnu plavušu Galaktička Federacija zove, kad god njeno oružje može da pomogne u borbi protiv pirata. U ogromnom oklopu, uz razne puce, a posebno uz njen ručni top to neće biti problem.
U ovom trećem delu je/vas pozivaju pošto je Baza Galaktičke federacije pod napadom od strane svemirskih pirata. Uz pomoć ostalih plaćenika ćete morati da očisti i planetu od pirata i zaraženi kompujter od organskog virusa. Taman kad ste pomislili da vam treba samo antivirus , shvatate da na sreću vaša puca će da odradi najviše posla u rešavanju problema. Počećete samo sa plazma topom na ruci (samo?) , a ubrzo ćete dobiti i projektile sa navođenjem. Do kraja igre će vam ovo biti glavna oružja , sa tim da ćete ih sa vremena na vreme moći unaprediti raznim dodacima. Nakon uspešne missije odbranjivanja planete od meteora, naćićete se u vašem poznatom oklopu , ali ojačanim Phazon Enhancement Device-om. Biće tu i raznih dodataka za top, kao i razni viziri (recimo rentgenski), ali da ne otkrivamo...
Najbolji deo igre su borbe sa bossovima, ali definitivno ćete najviše vremena provoditi provaljujući način kako da nastavite. Imam jedan savet za početnike : Ako zastanete, skenirajte, ako ne nađete ništa, skenirajte opet, i ako opet ništa ne nađete , onda... ...skenirajte opet.
Nunckukom ćete voditi Samus, a Wiimoteom ćete ciljati. Mogu da kažem da od svih dosadašnjih igara, ovde to radi savršeno. Pa još kad vidite kako su i ostali dugmići dodeljeni raznim akcijama, čudićete se da li su programeri nešto naučili ili vi postali spretniji. Grafika je odlična , posebno će oduševiti SF fanove.
Za sve ljubitelje Metroid Prime serijala, potpuno je nepotrebno opisivati ovi igru, iako liči na sve pređašnje delove, to je u taman tolikoj meri urađeno, da nemate osećaj kao da ste već ovo igrali. Preporuka i za zagrižene kvejkere, zakovane za PC.
Jedina mana igre je multiplayer deo, jer ne postoji. Možemo da se samo nadamo da će se ljudi iz Retro studios smilovati i podariti nam multiplayer, jer ovih dvadesetak sati igranja premalo uz ovakvu igru.

It’s all but impossible to find a game quite like any in the Metroid Prime series. Admittedly, the developers have cobbled together a wide variety of specific, and frequently not very subtle, influences from other games (think Myst, Half Life, System Shock, Marathon, Doom, Zelda…). While the specific elements of any given Prime game may be easy to trace down through the annals of gaming history, the cumulative impact has always been a profoundly singular one. Now comes the third and final installment in the Prime trilogy, and much has changed since the original Prime descended from the heavens like Kubrick’s (and Clarke’s) mysterious monolith for the gaming apes to marvel at. Does it still hold the same other-worldly elegance and rapturous immersion of its predecessors?

It’s been nine months after the Wii’s release and the gamers that anticipated its arrival can finally get their hands on the game that truly exemplifies the "new-gen" experience that Nintendo promised. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption not only expands Samus' higly-acclaimed universe to levels never before seen in any other Metroid game, but it also sucks the player into another world like no other game on the console.

Corruption has been crafted so well, and with such attention to detail, that a jaunt into unfamiliar territory becomes enjoyable rather than jarring. The more pressing pacing is assisted by level-design choices that minimize backtracking via new routes that open after key objectives are completed. You'll rarely feel frustrated by the need to retread old ground in search of a new item or location. Your abilities themselves have also been pared back and refined, with less volume but more meaningful functionality.

Retro’s Wii debut has finally arrived. Like many Wii owners, several of us at Nintendojo have been eagerly eating up the final chapter in the Prime trilogy. That doesn’t mean that we aim to let our readers down, as a few of us have managed to tear ourselves away from the first-person adventure long enough to give some thoughts on the game. The action is still just as intense as the other Prime's, actually even more so than its predecessors. Boss fights are stellar as always. One boss in particular is one of the best I have seen in a Prime game - such variety in that battle! Normal enemies are more plentiful during this adventure as well. More enemy encounters are definitely welcome in a game with such enjoyable controls however.

This is it, this is the perfect, natural feeling. Sony and Microsoft will eventually introduce pointing functionality into their controllers. Of that I am sure. And when that happens, this is how you'll play FPS on your television.

A game can have spot-on controls, but it really won’t mean anything unless the actual gameplay is fun. We already knew that Corruption would most likely be a fantastic game, but there is always that small chance that things may go wrong. Prime 2 is indeed a fantastic game, but it fell short of the lofty goals Prime 1 set for it. While I expected Corruption to fall somewhere in the middle of 1 and 2 in terms of quality, I quickly found out that this entry in the series would be the best one yet.
