"On the Wii we have places where the story veers off and we go and explore something, take the game in a different direction, like the Jedi Temple level. There are five levels that aren't in the PS3 and 360 versions," says Tucker.

- Controls very smoothly
- Graphics are much more detailed than previous iterations with great water and explosion effects.
- Sound is brilliant
- 16 brand new courses along with many previous ones.
- Exciting new items
- Performing stunts will earn you a sweet reward (doesn't clarify what it is)
- Match-making process is much better with shortened times to get into a match.

...after seeing the Jedi temple exploration, a level not present on the HD-gen versions of the game, we are just as excited for the Wii version as we are for the HD-gen versions. This is, we think, a first...
...Beyond that, the game looks much more comfortable with its own gameplay than the HD-gen version. Without the need to invent their own technological wheels, the current-gen (and yeah, that includes the Wii) team seems to be able to focus on gameplay. The encounters between the Apprentice and the Stormtroopers in the tight corridors of the Temple and its wide-open spaces were fantastic clashes, with crumbling stonework and collapsible walls making sure that Force powers got as many chances to look cool as possible.

Online, though, is where this should shine. Hooking up to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is as easy and free as ever, and inputting friend codes is as time-consuming and stupid as ever, but at least the interface is sensible, and once you're set you can choose to play against a friend (with invites optional), anyone in the world, or someone of comparable skill.

However, unlike the wide-open, branching paths that made motion steering bearable in MotorStorm (and yes, Excite Truck), Nitrobike aims for a more linear, supercross-style track design that punishes players for going outside the lines. Sticking to the path at all times is nearly impossible at high speeds, and it took me several hours to get used to taking hard turns with the otherwise steady motion controls. That's fine and well on an empty track. But add a field of nine A.I. opponents that typically stay close to one another (and your own rider) and you often find yourself pushed into barriers or struggling to control your bike.

You know, you can see on the screen, in No More Heroes you sit on the toilet to save the game - I guess making a game for me is a bit like that. When you take a shit, everything you've consumed is all mixed together, there are all sorts of things in that - and that's the same kind of idea, I think.

PES Wii 2008 is about the football team as opposed to a series of players you take control of. As soon as you gain control of the ball, you almost have to forget about the individual. Instead, you absent-mindedly direct him with the Nunchuk's, while concentrating on directing other players around the pitch using the Remote. It plays like a hybrid of traditional PES and a RTS, where you cease concentrating on the individual and think more about your units

You don't just flip your Remote around and have Dewy snap to attention; you must learn to glide through the levels. Being trained to stop on a dime like I had become thanks to the excellent Kororinpa, this was hard to learn, but ultimately quite rewarding. When it clicked, I couldn't help but smile; I was still tilting the Remote around like I would in a number of other Wii games, but I felt like I'd mastered a whole new type of game, one that was simply joy to play.
